Star Health Insurance — one of India’s largest standalone health insurance companies — has settled health insurance claims worth approximately ₹3,330 crore across the Telugu states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh over the past five years, the company said in a recent disclosure to the press.
This payout underscores Star Health’s expanding role in providing financial protection and access to medical care for tens of thousands of policyholders in both states. The insurer also reported strong growth in premium collections — collecting around ₹1,655 crore in FY25 so far in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh combined, up from about ₹1,406 crore in FY24.

In FY25 (year to date), Star Health has already paid ₹623 crore in claims in the two states — including ₹438.76 crore in Telangana and ₹184 crore in Andhra Pradesh.
In FY24, claims settlements in the region totaled approximately ₹920 crore (about ₹612 crore in Telangana and ₹251.6 crore in Andhra Pradesh).
The company operates a network of 91 branches with around 1,352 employees serving customers across both states.
Since its inception, Star Health says it has paid out over 1.1 crore claims nationwide — amounting to ₹52,000 crore — and processes claims worth about ₹25 crore daily, averaging roughly four settled claims every minute.
The insurer also highlighted efforts to increase insurance awareness and accessibility in the region, in line with the regulator’s mission of “insurance for all.” Initiatives mentioned include telemedicine programs, home healthcare services, a Braille insurance policy tailored for visually impaired customers, and vaccination campaigns aimed at preventive care.
