M’Brace by Kamineni Hospitals Launches Awareness Campaign for World Immunization Week 2026

M’Brace, the mother-and-child healthcare initiative by Kamineni Hospitals, marked World Immunization Week with a special awareness drive aimed at educating the public about the life-saving importance of vaccines.

Observed annually from April 24 to April 30, World Immunization Week 2026 carries the theme “For every generation, vaccines work.” The campaign emphasizes that immunization is essential not only for children but for people of all ages.

Key Highlights of the Awareness Drive:

Doctors and specialists from M’Brace conducted awareness sessions to spread information about:

  • The importance of timely vaccinations

  • How vaccines prevent life-threatening diseases

  • Reducing the spread of infections through community immunity

  • Addressing myths and vaccine hesitancy among parents

India’s Massive Immunization Programme:

India runs one of the world’s largest immunization programs under the Universal Immunization Programme (UIP), covering nearly:

  • 29 million pregnant women annually

  • 26.5 million infants every year

Vaccines help protect against serious diseases such as:

  • Polio

  • Measles

  • Rubella

  • Diphtheria

  • Pertussis

  • Tetanus

  • Hepatitis B

  • Rotavirus infection

  • Pneumococcal disease

  • HPV-related cancers.

What Doctors Said:

Dr. S. Narasimha Rao, Senior Consultant Paediatrician at M’Brace, said immunization has transformed child healthcare by preventing many infectious diseases that were once widespread. He stressed the importance of following the full vaccination schedule for complete protection.

Dr. Kanchan S. Channawar, Consultant Pediatrician and Pediatric Intensivist, explained that many severe infections seen in intensive care are preventable through vaccination. She added that vaccines reduce hospital admissions and the need for critical care.

Dr. R. V. Soujanya, Consultant Paediatrician and Neonatologist, highlighted that immunization starts at birth and plays a crucial role in protecting newborns and infants during their most vulnerable stages. She also emphasized maternal vaccination for better health outcomes.

Why This Matters:

Healthcare experts say awareness campaigns like this are vital because:

✔ They encourage parents to vaccinate children on time
✔ They reduce fear and misinformation about vaccines
✔ They improve public health and prevent outbreaks
✔ They help build a healthier and safer society

The initiative by M’Brace and Kamineni Hospitals reinforces the message that vaccines save lives and are one of the strongest tools in preventing infectious diseases across generations.
